Married At First Sight star Martha Kalifatidis has spent the last week in bed fighting off a viral infection.

Michael, 31, posted a photo on his Stories of himself holding the influencer’s hand as she lay in bed next to a half-eaten sandwich.

‘I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has reached out and messaged us asking about Martha,’ he wrote.

‘She’s been offline and unwell with a viral infection. It’s taken a toll on her energy levels, but she she’s okay and on the mend.’

It comes after Michael almost lost $20,000 worth of Martha’s designer clothes on his way to Europe several weeks ago.

On his podcast The Handbags, the personal trainer explained he stayed in a hotel the night before jetting off to the UK for their extended holiday in Europe, but forgot about her clothes when he left because he was ‘coming off an hour’s sleep’.

He admitted it was a costly mistake because getting the clothes from Sydney all the way to Europe was not easy.

Michael listed the help of Martha’s mother Mary who found the clothes and shipped them off to Italy, but the couple were no longer staying there for the time the package arrived.

He chronicled on Instagram their 13-hour journey from Turkey to Florence to finally recover Martha’s holiday wardrobe.

The MAFS groom told listeners the blunder was even worse than the infamous sandwich saga that saw him and Martha, 34, have a major argument in Florence.

The couple had a row when Martha went to the bathroom as they were waiting in line at a sandwich shop, and Michael proceeded to just order a sandwich for himself.

He told his podcast co-host Josh Moss that Martha was furious at him when she got back and realized she had to queue up again.

The pair fell in love on the sixth season of Married At First Sight.

They delighted fans in December when they announced their engagement.

Michael enlisted the help of Armans Fine Jewelery to create an emerald-cut diamond ring worth $100,000, which Martha absolutely loved.
