Ex-Bachelor star Laurina Fleure has admitted she felt terrified of motherhood after finding out she was expecting her first child with partner James Black.

The 38-year-old confessed she considered not going through with her pregnancy after wondering if she’d ‘ever be responsible enough’ to raise a child.

‘I didn’t think I’d ever have children so there were a lot of tears at the start and just fear,’ she told Herald Sun.

‘I did wonder whether I should see it through.’

Laurina added that her career, which she said was her ‘main priority’, made her reconsider pregnancy.

The Melbourne native is the founder of Beauty Aqua, a drinks brand that sells sparkling water infused with vitamins, electrolytes and amino acids.

‘I borrowed all my mum’s money for [the business],’ she explained. ‘I thought, “How am I going to lift boxes and do all that when I’m pregnant?”‘

Laurina, who appeared on both The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, also said she wouldn’t have a baby unless she was ‘madly in love’.

She announced in May she was expecting her first child with partner James, 32, who runs his own landscape construction business.

Showing the couple sitting side by side, Laurina captioned the post: ‘The mum and the dad… 3.5 months…’

Shortly after the announcement, the reality TV star told the Herald Sun she had started to believe having a baby wasn’t ‘in my cards’.

‘I was with James when I was going to freeze my eggs and I didn’t react well to the hormones so I gave up and thought I’d struggle to have a baby,’ she said.

She also revealed the pair were planning to tie the knot soon.

Laurina shot to fame on Blake Garvey’s season of The Bachelor back in 2014, before later appearing on the first season of Bachelor in Paradise.

In 2018, Laurina made a brief return to TV on the first season of Bachelor In Paradise.

She entered the Fiji-based reality show in episode two, but decided to quit five episodes later after failing to spark romance with any of the contestants.
